Personal Logo Redesign
When I first made my website, I was a freshman in college. It was one of the first logos I made, and I built it purely based on skill level and aesthetics. I wanted to redesign my logo to be a better representation of myself as a designer.
I started with brainstorming adjectives that described my style and process that I wanted to be reflected in the theme of my brand/logo.
I wanted my logo to be a clear and simple marker on all of my materials. Kind of like my signature on all my fine art pieces I wanted to create a logo that I could use as an identifying stamp for my resume, cover letters, and portfolio.
I then searched for inspiration. I created a Pinterest board of logos and concepts that caught my eye.
After curating my inspiration board, I drew out any ideas I had in procreate. I wanted to keep the core concept of having the logo based on the letters of my initials so I started playing around with the motion of the letters to see what I could come up with
I found I wanted to play on the double-curved stroke that both the “M” and the “B” share. After sketching out some ideas I landed on one that I wanted to sketch out in InDesign.
However, after drawing it in InDesign, I didn't feel like it fit the adjectives I had outlined. Therefore I went back to the drawing board and came up with another design that was a bit more minimalist.
With my second design, I had two iterations. One that was blocky and prominent and one that. Thinner and lighter. I liked the boldness of the blocky one, but I felt it strayed too far from the concept of my initials. So I took that idea and went back to the drawing board to try and make the letters a bit more noticeable.
After reworking the logo to match the initial concept, I ended up with my final logo.

Final Product
Based on the clean and simple look of the Arial font, this logo effectively ties in the use of my initials in an abstract, yet noticeable design. Its bold yet clean presence on the page allows it to be a clear marker of my brand identity as a designer.
